BLACKHEATH HOUSE Materials: European Oak timber frame, Reclaimed Brick, Rubber (courtyard featuring stone and in-situ cast concrete). This extension to an Edwardian house creates a harmonious union between different types of space: traditional and modern, indoor and outdoor; cooking and living. The new kitchen and garden room are formed of bespoke elements and furniture, each individually designed for this project and lovingly crafted using traditional joinery techniques. The result is a space that is entirely new and at the same time speaks perfectly to the house’s existing proportions and architecture as well as its quirky and stylish interior design. Our ApproachArchitecture is a process of considering and making a space. Bringing to our projects a thoughtful response to existing structures and a deep understanding of the materials with which we work and the possibilities they bring, we aim to interpret the ideas of the people who will actually live and work in the finished space.
